You know the expression 20/20 hindsight? Well that is so true, I have been looking at everything I should have done differently. I want to leave what is in the past in the past, but we also need to learn from our mistakes.
Right now this process is very enlightening. I have been working more with promoting my business. I think that when we opened Captured Moments, so much of my focus was on perfecting my craft and getting the right equipment, that I dropped the ball on promoting the business.
Now I am comfortable with both having what I need to do the job, and knowing that I have a real talent and ability to do the job well. So now I am learning how to go about promoting my business on a shoe string. I love to learn new things and that is exactly what this is, learning MANY new things. In a perfect world I would just have the sessions fall in my lap and get to concentrate on what I love to do....Take creative photographs and add little special touches to make them works of art. But the reality is, this is a business and I have to do the business "stuff" so that I can also get to do what I love to do. After all, my kids are getting tired of me always putting them in front of the camera so that I can try a new idea.
I guess I have to look at all of this learning how to promote my business as another way to be creative!
Aha! You're blogging once again. Good for you! Every day and every small detail brings you more knowledge and experience. You're on a very good path and laying out an excellent plan for yourself. Your creativity is the fun part of your business. The other side of the business is totally necessary....and you'll find a way to make it fun as well.
