Let's do this Right! Creative Professional Photography

You know the expression 20/20 hindsight? Well that is so true, I have been looking at everything I should have done differently. I want to leave what is in the past in the past, but we also need to learn from our mistakes.
Right now this process is very enlightening. I have been working more with promoting my business. I think that when we opened Captured Moments, so much of my focus was on perfecting my craft and getting the right equipment, that I dropped the ball on promoting the business.
Now I am comfortable with both having what I need to do the job, and knowing that I have a real talent and ability to do the job well. So now I am learning how to go about promoting my business on a shoe string. I love to learn new things and that is exactly what this is, learning MANY new things. In a perfect world I would just have the sessions fall in my lap and get to concentrate on what I love to do....Take creative photographs and add little special touches to make them works of art. But the reality is, this is a business and I have to do the business "stuff" so that I can also get to do what I love to do. After all, my kids are getting tired of me always putting them in front of the camera so that I can try a new idea.
I guess I have to look at all of this learning how to promote my business as another way to be creative!

Wow, I can not believe that November is 2/3 over. It is going to be Thanksgiving in the blink of an eye, and Christmas before I know it. I am trying to help others with great Holiday cards and I still have not finished making mine. I am really looking forward to my sessions this week, but I know that time is flying by. Well here's to taking time to stop and enjoy the Holidays!!!
